What is a remote wildlife viewing system:
As a wildlife enthusiast or researcher, you know that the best wildlife viewing almost always takes place in areas far from human infrastructure. Because of this remoteness, many people are unable to share in the joy and excitement of watching nature's birds and animals in their natural habitat. SeeMore Wildlife Systems remote wildlife viewing systems make it possible to view live video of these events on your television monitor or desktop computer--to control the pan, tilt and zoom of robotic cameras--so that you can follow moving animals and view the exact images you want to see.

With solar or wind powered equipment specifically designed for harsh conditions, our systems enable you to experience images of wildlife in their natural habitat, live and in real-time, with the following features: Back to top

How will a remote wildlife viewing system help my organization
Having live, interactive video images of wildlife available over the Internet or on a large screen television at a visitor’s center can help your organization a number of ways: All these events result in increased public awareness and appreciation of the wildlife in your area. Ultimately leading to more revenue for your organization and greater enjoyment of these natural resources.

How much does it cost:
The cost depends on the distance the wireless video transmission travels, the remoteness of the sites, as well as the type and the number of cameras desired. SeeMore Wildlife Systems creates a custom proposal for each site, but as a rule of thumb a single, fixed camera located less than 3 miles from the receiving location can cost as little as $7,900. Adding interactive pan/tilt/zoom capabilities in a ruggedized camera housing with a washer and wiper increases this cost to approximately $25,000, including installation. Thermal imaging is also available for viewing in complete darkness. We can provide video imagery from very remote locations with satellite transmission or more powerful video links, at additional cost. Since most of these cameras are placed in harsh environments, we recommend you also take advantage of our maintenance program.

How are these projects typically funded: Most of our customers obtain funding from multiple sources, including but not limited to friends groups, corporate sponsors, and matching grants from government agencies.

An effective way to secure governmental help is to find out which agency, state or federal, has management authority over the animals you will be viewing. Contact this agency and find out if they have an interest in partnering with you. They may find a video system useful for their own research or other purposes.

Most government grants require non-governmental matching funds. To raise these, you can provide them internally from your organization, contact a conservation group, or contact local corporate sponsors.

Once the system is up and running, most organizations find it easy to raise money for maintenance, because of the interest that the project creates.

SeeMore Wildlife Systems also has a lease program that can reduce the initial outlay of funds in the first year and pay for the system over a period of three years.
